The evening was windy and much colder than the past few days. Our post dinner walk felt refreshing and invigorating, just the right temperature for a pup to get active.
Just after about 5 minutes into our walk, a light drizzle started.
Now, Mummy gets runny nose and recurrent sneezes at the drop of a hat! We thought it would be prudent for her to get her wind-cheater on before her nose realises it is cold enough to leak! So, we came back home, collected her jacket n set off again.
Off we went, happy and gay and enjoying the nightly sounds and smells when suddenly the sky burst open!
It just broke! And before you could even think of dropping a hat, it had rained 5002341 Gallons on us!
Where did the rain come from? We thought it had reached the southern hemisphere by now!
Mummy tried to hurry us home but we saw no reason for doing that. We were already soaked to the marrow of our bones and nothing could have made us any wetter.
So we just decided to find the puddles, splash around, get as muddy as ever and generally have an absolute fun time. Mummy did not have a say in this matter anymore. Besides, we had her on a leash, so she had no other option but to follow us.
She was rather worried that we would all catch a cold or something. And then there was the matter of giving us a bath at that hour of the night. It was mandatory, she said if we wanted to snuggle into bed with her.
Not that we mind. We are water dogs remember?
And though Mummy wouldn’t admit it, we suspect she had a lot of fun too!
Well, talking of water dogs, did we tell you we have successfully trained our kid brother to be one?
Till just about a month ago, he wasn’t very keen on getting wet or finding water holes on our walks.
But over the past few weeks, we convinced him that the basic rule about being a Labra-dawg (Well, he thinks he is one!) is that YOU GOTTA LOVE WATER.
Though he hasn’t learnt the part about sniffing out a water-hole and leading the way, he gladly follows us into one.
He’s smart, our little puppy boy! And look how he’s growing!
(Isn’t he just so handsome?)
(He does believe he is a yellow lab!!…Tee hee hee)
And make sure your Mums and Dads have a lot of fun too, even if you have to drag them by their leashes!
Wags,
Buddy and Ginger

Great philosophy! As a matter of fact, we drug Mom and Dad by our leashes off for an adventure yesterday. Life is better when you run in full tilt!

It looks like you had lots of fun in the rain!!! You seem to always have so much fun there!! Your brother is a yellow lab isn't he (hehe)!! He is very cute!!!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
Ha - TD and Ciara love to get wet, and the wetter the better, as long as it is from the rain and not from a bath. Mom sure looks like she had fun too.
Shadow looks wonderful - he sure had no trouble becoming a part of the family, did he?
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Your mum looks like she had a great time, even though she's soakin' wet!
Well done Shadow, we don't know that we'd get in the water either.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Splashing in the ran...sounds like a lot of fun was had by all. You made me laugh with the "wind cheater" comment. Hilarious!
Oh yeah I too just LOVE the rain. Here in Oregon, USA we have frozen rain! Thats right we have snow! I love snow more than I do rain!
Isn't water just pawsome?
woo woos, Tessa
That is a lot of rain--My pups like the rain too and don't mind being out in it like I do!
I'm so glad that the 'little brother' is learning the ropes and doing so well!! It warms my heart to read that!!

Splashing around in that mud sure looks like fun even if your feets are wet. By the looks of mummy, she had just as much fun
Benny & Lily
You make the water look like so much fun! It must be really nice and warm where you live! Where we live it is so cold. We've never gone swimming, and we don't particularly like rain because it makes us so cold. But we like snow!!!
Sounds like a very interesting, wet and muddy walkie!
Glad Shadow is now enjoying the water with you two!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
All three of you doggies look like you are really having fun in the water now. Maybe Shadow is really yellow lab but got painted black somehow. he he - he's cute anyway. You all are.
You all look so happy in these pictures! Thanks for the smiles.
Your pal, Pip
Shadow is a doll. It's always fun getting wet, isn't it?:) We're so glad Shadow is learning to love the water.:)

I could be terribly mistaken (mind you, that doesn't happen often), but I am pretty doggone sure your mom was having MORE fun than you! Her face is just full of the happiness!! Good job guys!!

From your mom's happy faces, I am sure she loves the rain. Wait...I mean she loves playing in the rain with all of you!
I love those pictures of you all and it seems all of you had such a fun day!
yeehaw!! way to have some mega funsies in the rain! i'm glad you were able to convince your mama about the way awesomeness of puddle stompin' and mud splashin'. there aren't too many thingies that are better than that!
i had a feelin' it wouldn't take shadow too long to enjoy the waters cuz of 2 thingies --
(1) yellow labradoggies are the bestest kind of doggie to be! (mama says i'm partial. heehee.)
(2) shadow has the bestest yellow labradoggie sis and bro to learn from 'n look up to!
