What exactly is this FOOTBALL FEVER???

We want to share this joke Mummy received in her mail yesterday.…

A man has great tickets for the World Cup Final. As he sits down,
another man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the empty seat
next to him.
“No,” he says, “the seat is empty.”
“This is incredible!” says the other man. “Who in their right mind
would have a seat like this for the World Cup Final, the biggest
sporting event, and not use it?”
“Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. My wife was supposed to come
with me, but she passed away. This is the first World Cup Final we
haven't been to together since we got married.”
“Oh ... I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find
someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbour to take the
seat?”
The man shakes his head. “No, they're all at the funeral...”

Talk of Football fever! Made Mummy wonder about ….**wink****!!

Now for Part 2:
Have you heard of the ‘OCTOPUS ORACLE’ yet?

This 2 year old British origin octopus, now living in Germany in the city of Oberhausen, seems to be the latest in the line of famous oracles!
Daddy is fond of this oracle:

(Matrix trilogy: Daddy must have watched it atleast a GAZILLION times!!)

And Mummy is fond of this:

(Agatha from 'Minority Report'. We suspect it is her 'Saviour' who makes mummy swoon Mummy actually likes)

But an Octopus Oracle!! And that too not out of any Hollywood flick?
We think he is somehow fibbing don’t really know what to make of it.

Paul seems to have predicted correctly about all the four matches Germany has played in the FIFA world cup, including the country’s shocking loss to Serbia!!
His technique is very simple. He picks up his food from a glass container with the flag of the country he thinks will win a certain match! (Click HERE to see Paul in action)
The officials of the Aquarium where he stays have also reported that the duration he takes to decide on the winner indicates the difficulty level or length of the match!!

For example, he took just seconds to pick out Germany as a winner against England indicating the easy 4-1 win. (But of course, it was a 4-2! That referee should be shown a red card!)
Paul has predicted that Germany will win their next match against Argentina. And judging by the length of time he took to predict this (45 minutes, to be precise) this match is going to be a Long, Exciting one, even with the probability of extending to extra-time and penalties!
Well, that remains to be seen.
And we can’t really make up our minds about whether or not to believe a ‘Psychic Octopus’.

Psychic or otherwise, Paul certainly is getting a lot of press, and definitely some extra special treats! What more can an octopus ask for?

Two bright spots in our Lives

1. India reached the finals of Asia Cup Cricket by beating our arch rivals Pakistan! It was a picture perfect, last ball, nail-biting finish. We, however, just watched the last few minutes of the match. Can’t help it. Football comes once in 4 years and our cricket matches go on all like forever and ever. Couldn’t these guys pause playing just for 1 month?

2. New-Zealand equalled Mighty Italy!

Daddy was supporting Italy and we, New-Zealand, our friend Koda’s Team.
Mummy, however, was confused. The Kiwis were playing wonderfully but some of the Italian players are so handsome…!!Like Rossi here.

In the end our entire family was happy. But we still think New-Zealand missing that last 'JUST-IN' shot was very unfortunate.

Still, it was better than yesterday.

This says it all.

Why couldn’t he take better care of his ankle? Agreed. he was looking rather handsome and smart in that zillion dollar suit, but we like him better out there in the field.

No point raving and ranting at his players from the stands, is there now, when he couldn’t come up with a better plan. Was he shouting in Italian or English? We would like to know.

And yeah, yeah Rooney, we can understand why you are angry. But you can't really blame your fans , can you, after that performance by a hot favourite team?

And then, there was this downer.

Daisy, Kendra, Bella…..our paws are crossed.

To top it all, Mummy told us today that the French are unwilling to train because their best striker Nicolas Anelka isn’t allowed to play anymore.

Can’t blame them. We wouldn’t like it too.
But what will they do about their final match? Will they be out of this world cup soon?

Honestly, this event is a thriller in itself! Dog knows what else is coming…..

FOOTBALL !!

Hi Furiends,

We are finally up and awake! Had a wet weekend…the monsoon rain is here. The hot, hot sun has finally decided to take a nap behind clouds and there is mud, MUD n MORE mud everywhere!! Sheer BLISS!!
But Poor Mummy and Daddy, they are having a hard time cleaning us and the house up. Anybuddy with a modicum of smell or sight can tell you which rooms we had been to!!

We had told you earlier we had a very, very busy weekend. Well, Mummy and Daddy has been working overtime and that means lonely, long hours for us at home. To ensure that we don’t get too bored waiting for them and fret and fidget, Daddy has been taking us for vigourous runs in the mornings. That way, we get so tired that we sleep the day off. And then when they come back late, they take out us for some more outings!
To make up for leaving us alone for so long, we are guessing!
We are not complaining, we have been having a blast splashing in the rain drenched fields.
But you can imagine how tired Mummy and Daddy gets with all this activity.
Finally, after 3 days of a hectic, crazy schedule, we all were so relieved it was Sunday!
We don’t have pictures (Mummy refused to get her precious camera wet in the rain) but you have to take our word for it that we had loads of fun.

It is football season!

Can you imagine, we Labradawgs don’t have a decent football?
The one that we have is crushed beyond recognition! It's Unphotographable!

Mummy hasn’t been getting us one (inspite of all our imploring looks and refusal to play with that mess of a ball) because it takes us just about 7 seconds to puncture a new one and she says it is not worth it. Instead, she asks us to stick to the tennis and cricket balls.
Now, we wonder what the rubber industries are doing. They have come up with tuff-up puncture resistant tyres, why on earth, sun and moon can’t they come up with a fang-bite resistant ball?
They are loosing out on a huge chunk of customers, don’t you think?

Anyway, we are watching all those men running after such lovely balls and it makes us rather indignant! Mummy told us it is some type of a new ball too- ‘Adidas Jabulani’ which is causing all those gaffes. Now is it slippery or what?

(No guys, it's not ours.Just a googled pic!)

Such fun it would be to get one! Sigh!

India isn’t playing in the football world cup. So we have the option of supporting one of our furiend’s countries.
Now, that is what is making us all confused.
So many of our furiends are from the US and the UK. Then, there is Lorenza from Mexico, Koda from New Zealand, Bella the westie and our dear Scottie trio- Daisy, Kendra, Bella from Australia.
Besides, Mummy and Daddy are crazy about many players from Italy and France and Brazil and Argentina and Germany.

Daddy says we should watch the matches for the spirit of the game and enjoy the HUGE excitement! And Mummy says she will support the handsomest players!
Silly, silly Mummy!
Anyways, BEST of LUCK to all your teams, dear Furiends. We will cheer for all of you.

But all said and done, we still think Mummy should get us a new Football. Don’t you?
