Guess who’s here?..!!!

You wouldn’t believe it, but the first glance I had of him was when he sauntered past while I was taking a nap! There he was, just a few centimetres away from my nose!

Mummy shrieked, ‘ Shadow, don’t you go after the lizard. It is just a puppy!’

What a silly girl she is!

One, she scared away the lizard. And two, I would never have seen him, leave alone going after him, had she not shouted.

Anyway, the little puppy lizard ran right up our bedroom wall and stayed there pretending he was a pat of the paintwork!

No amount of cajoling and pleading could convince him to get down.

Buddy came over to help me but gave up much too soon, convinced that it was a sheer waste of sleep time.

Ginger, of course, couldn’t care less.

Sometimes I feel my older brother and sister are really getting old! I mean, this is the first lizard we were meeting after ages. How can you not be excited?

Well, I must have dozed off because when I woke up it was past midnight and the lizard was gone.

What a waste!!

Paws crossed I’ll see him around soon.

  2. Hey Shadow!
Wow, I would have been totally excited too! It's probably a good thing he stayed way up there until he could sneak away...if it had been here I would have attacked him the minute his little feet hit the floor! :)

  5. We understand your wanting to not miss a thing with that lizard puppy! Do lizards eat bugs like they do here in the US? We were told to not kill them because they eat the bugs.

PS: hu-mom likes your blue walls, reminds her of the Caribbean!

  8. Oh, Shadow...I can so feel your pain!!! Our Alice (who you greatly resemble) is a big lizard hunter, too. In fact, she is whining at the back door right now wanting me to let her go out and check the gardenia bush next to the steps. She just knows there is a lizard waiting there for her! I told her it is too hot and humid for lizard hunting right now.

  9. Oh, how cool would that be, if you could really meet him, I mean. He looks like the one on the Geico commercials here.

  15. Hi, what a lovely blog and pack of doggies you have! I especially love your blog name and header.
We found you from They Call Me the Booker Man...

We love lizzards, George is very keen on hunting them, although they're a very rare occurrence around here.

  18. I am Most Impressed with your persev...perservranse...how you stuck to it. Ginger and Buddy were kinda stick in the muds, weren't they? You had the right idea, Shadow. I bet he'll come back and maybe next time you'll be able to talk him into coming down for a nice little chat.

  19. We're with Minnie & Mack: don't lizards do good works like eat bugs? Although we're not sure we'd want them in the bedroom. Perhaps the balcony.

Is Ginger completely restored to health now?
